If you love camping then you have to try this idea for a tasty, and easy peasy dish that will have the whole family coming to the camping table when you call. I have cooked this dish every time we have gone camping in our campervan, (which is a lot of times), and yes…it is that good! It doesn’t take up much vital fridge/freezer bag space and only consists of four ingredients!
You will need
A pack of sausages (I usually get some with apple or caramelised onions in)
Spaghetti (well it wouldn’t be camping without it)
A cherry tomatoes (the sweeter the better)
Some dried thyme
What to do
First up, pour your preferred tipple and put on your best tunes. You are now ready to begin.
1 – Set water to boil water for spaghetti and put it in
2 – Squeeze sausage meet out of its skin into meatball sized portions into a hot pan to brown. Whilst they are browning they will release all their flavoursome sticky loveliness. This is the worth the wait, trust me!
3 – Your spaghetti may be done now but just leave in water to do its thing. Meanwhile add the tomatoes to the pan with the ‘meatballs’ for a few minutes until they begin to soften, and then a few good pinches of thyme. The smell is divine and calls for you to pour another glass to slip whilst you marvel at your camping kickassness (I am going with that word).
4 – Then drain the spaghetti and add this to the pan to mop up all those lovely juices.
5 – Call everyone up and serve straight from the pan.
Best camping dinner ever – BOOM!
All that is left to do is to send the kids to do some ‘teamwork washing up’ whilst you sit back, relax and pretend that you can’t hear them arguing over whose turn it is to use the washing up liquid.
Thanks for reading guys and please be sure to let me know if you make it, and what you think of it too!
