Now I know you have all been wondering for a long time what my bedtime routine and and so hands up, I have decided to give in. In all honesty, I thought it would be fun.  Thank you to the lovely Laura at https://boyequation.com for nominating me.

Describe your usual bedtime routine.

It starts with a scorching hot shower and then I get into my PJs really early. In fact the earlier the better for me. I usually have a glass of wine. Just the one (ahem). I then usually have a marathon tv session, something drama based but not scary in any sense. I am the biggest scaredy cat ever. Otherwise I put on some music and we have a right old catch up. The album I usually put on is perfect for this. It is called Lazy Afternoon. It is chilled out enough to not feel you are being interrupted but further into the album it allows opportunities to belt out a song should I not stop at the one wine! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lazy-Afternoon-Various-Artists/dp/B01J2RFUD

I go to bed around midnight. I put on my electric blanket to warm up whilst I brush my teeth and then apply hand cream and lip balm (to allow it to get super toasty in there). I snuggle in and am often asleep within seconds.

What are your favourite pyjamas?

I love my silk nightie from Victorias Secret. It is so comfortable and doesn’t hutch up in the night. That can be so annoying, like sleeping in cling film.

What is your current bedtime reading?

Memoirs of a Geisha. I first read this on honeymoon 11 years ago and decided to re-read it. I am enjoying it all over again. I only read this if I have an early night though. I have to decide to go to bed early, blanket on, and read a big chunk of it. I want to go to Japan and experience all that wonderful culture. It sounds so tranquil. The perfect bedtime read.

What would I find on your bedside table?

Hand cream, lip balm, my alarm clock and bedside lamp. I also have a stack of books that I WILL READ ONE DAY! Hmm, maybe I need more early nights!

What scent makes you sleepy?

My lavender hand cream from Loccitane. http://uk.loccitane.com/lavender-hand-cream,83,1,29790,272372.htm I swear that is how I get to sleep so quickly. One whiff of that and I am away.

What is your usual bedtime and wakeup time?

Bedtime is around midnight and wake up time is 7.30am,  unless I am working and then I can’t possibly say. It is an unethical time.

What are your top three bedtime products?

A really dry, crisp white wine, it chills me out once the kids are in bed and I can sit down and think ‘ahhh, some me time!’

The Body Shop do an amazing Vitamin E night cream. I have really sensitive skin so this feels heavenly to put on after my sauna shower.  https://www.thebodyshop.com/en-gb/face/moisturisers/vitamin-e-night-cream/p/p000206

My Elizabeth Arden 8 hour lip balm. In this weather it is essential. I even sneak some on my elbows because I read once that you should do this to keep your elbows in tip top condition. https://www.notino.co.uk/elizabeth-arden/eight-hour-cream-intensive-lip-balm/?item=499763&gclid=CjwKEAiA2abEBRCdx7PqqunM1CYSJABf3qvaiMSj3LBMgD34rurM6KfQLQyNVknTwAxPjpCIppWyEhoC-Frw_wcB

What is your most common sleeping position?

On my back with my ‘annoying leg’ leaning on my disgruntled husband. I even sneak an elbow onto him once he has drifted off. A sleeping ninja I am!

Do you have anything you like to take to bed with you?

A glass of ice cold water in my favourite bedtime glass. It is not a glass especially for bedtime water but it has jumped up the ranks over the years and now fill this very important roll. Any other glass just will not do. It feels wrong.

What is your worst bedtime habit?

If my husband comes to bed after me I have been known to completely freak out when he enters the room. I apparently sit up, wide eyed and start to hyperventilate. It scares the bejesus out of him and I never remember it.

Keeping. Him. On. His. Toes.

I now nominate my beautiful friend Kat at http://fastapproaching40.weebly.com

Kat, it is over to you.

The rules of the Bedtime Tag are:

Step 1: Thank the person who nominated you, and link back to their blog.

Step 2: Display the Bedtime badge, which you can see at the top of this post.

Step 3: Answer the ten questions included above.

Step 5: Nominate between three and five fellow bloggers to take part, and set them the questions.

(Yes I have noticed that there is no Step 4, but since everyone else has written the rules like this, I wondered if there was some secret bloggers’ reason to eliminate Step 4, so I have just followed suit!)

And if you fancy taking part in this tag, in a non-blogger way, please feel free to answer the questions in a comment below.
